Brix Law was founded in August 2015 with offices in Bend and Portland, Oregon. It provides real estate and corporate law advice to some of the leading names in real estate, business and land use in the Pacific Northwest. Partners Brad Miller, Kyle D. Wuepper and Laura Craska Cooper, all of whom are leaders in the legal field, have identified the desire to give back to the communities they serve as a core value of the firm.
NeighborImpact is Central Oregon's largest nonprofit, meeting basic human needs for food and shelter while enriching people's lives by providing access to increased education and skills and hope or the future. NeighborImpact serves 1 in 4 Central Oregonians in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties each year through a combination of federal, state and private funding. NeighborImpact's food bank depends entirely on private grants to provide operate support to distribute food received through Feeding America, the Oregon Food Bank, surplus food recovery activities and the generosity of the local community. Food is distributed throughout the region by approximately 40 nonprofit partners.
Feeding America is a national organization which organizes the delivery of food to more than 200 food banks and 60,000 partner agencies nationwide. Both NeighborImpact and the Oregon Food Bank are part of the Feeding America network.
Demand for food supplied through regional food bank in Central Oregon has grown 18 percent in the past year. "The end of the recession improved lives for many, but many people were left behind in the recovery," notes Carly Sanders, NeighborImpact Food Bank Manager.
"Our gift to NeighborImpact supports a Feeding America and Oregon Food Bank partner and is our way of thanking the community for its support in our first year," says Kyle Wuepper, Managing Partner of Brix Law. "Our community has been very good to us and we want to do good for our community."
"We appreciate generous corporate sponsors like Brix Law," notes Bill Kemp, Chief Development Officer for NeighborImpact. "Corporate and individual support keeps the trucks running and the supply of food flowing. Oregon's generosity makes it a great place to live."
